Scouting Success Stories in Phoenix

Posted on Jul 2 2012 - 9:32pm

Hey Scouters,

Did you know in our very own district we have:

  • a Webelos Scout who used his Readyman training he learned the week before to save his mother from choking
  • a Wolf Cub Scout that told one of his Pack Leaders, that since he joined Cub Scouts, he "doesn't lie anymore"
  • a Scout Troop that organized a bottled water drive to provide relief for firefighters that were battling last year's wildfires

Many Scouting success stories don't involve saving your Mom's life, but they are no less important!  Stories involving Leadership, Citizenship, Service . . . these successes happen everyday and are the result of Scouts and Scouters participating in the various programs of the Phoenix District in the Sam Houston Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America!

Please share your Scout Stories with us so that we can all learn, appreciate, and enjoy . . . send your story to ScoutingSuccessStory@PhoenixBSA.org

Hey Scouters!

Welcome to the Swamp! Swamp Base is Scouting's newest high adventure base located in South Louisiana. Spend a week next summer kayaking 60 miles through the Nation's most mysterious and challenging wilderness.
  • Paddle an average of 15 miles a day in exclusively designed tandem kayaks
  • Face the elements, and test your willingness to survive a night at primitive Rougarou Island
  • Spotlight alligators in the black of night
  • Introduce yourself to Louisiana's unique Cajun and Creole culture
  • Understand the importance of wetland ecosystems by sleeping on houseboats deep in the swamp
  • Experience how locals have lived on the water at 24 acre Island Outpost
  • Fly through the swamp on an airboat!

Registration is OPEN for 2014!
